AMERICAN EXPRESS SELECTS MOYA FOR IT'S NATIONAL CAMPAIGN - "BECAUSE IT MATTERS"
Share
When American Express first approached us to ask whether we'd be interested in participating in a national marketing campaign, we had no idea what was to come.
A week later, they shared the campaign concept, Because It Matters, and we were honoured to learn that, of all the merchants across New South Wales, only three businesses had been selected. MOYA was one of them, alongside the much loved Maybe Frank in Randwick, and a construction company in Wollongong. Three very different businesses, united by one philosophy, that the smallest details matter.

From the very beginning, it was clear that this campaign wasn't simply about showcasing businesses. It was about celebrating people who take genuine pride in what they do and who understand that excellence is built through care, craftsmanship and attention to detail.
As the creative team shared the vision behind the campaign, I realised it wasn't really about fashion, restaurants or construction at all. It was about something much deeper. It was about people who care more than necessity demands, not because anyone is watching, not because they are seeking recognition or reward, but because they simply cannot imagine approaching their work any other way.
The campaign celebrates the restaurant owner perfecting a table setting long after service has ended. The tradesperson refining a surface that already appears flawless. The boutique owner making one final adjustment to a window display, straightening a collar, smoothing a sleeve or refolding a garment, despite knowing that most people may never consciously notice.
Viewed through a purely practical lens, those extra moments might seem unnecessary. They take time. They often go unseen. Yet anyone who has devoted themselves to a craft understands that excellence lives in those details. The satisfaction comes not from being recognised for the work, but from knowing the work has been done properly.
That philosophy resonated deeply with me because it perfectly reflects the way we approach everything at MOYA.
Over the following weeks, our Castlecrag flagship store became the backdrop for the campaign. The American Express and Dentsu creative teams, including the producer, director, photographers, videographers, lighting specialists, make up artists and stylists, spent time getting to know MOYA before filming began. They wanted to understand what makes our business different, not just what we sell, although they were very enamoured with the collection.

At MOYA, every detail matters.
Every garment is thoughtfully selected. Every window display is carefully composed. Every mannequin is styled with intention. Every purchase is beautifully wrapped. Every alteration is completed so the garment fits as though it were made especially for that client. It is creating an environment that feels luxurious, welcoming and personal.
These are the details our clients may not always consciously notice, yet they are the very things that create the experience they remember.

Filming day was an extraordinary experience. More than 30 members of the production team transformed our Castlecrag store into a working film set. Cameras captured moments that happen every day at MOYA, carefully styling a display, folding a client's purchase with precision before placing it into a MOYA carry bag, and sharing the personalised service that has become synonymous with our business.
The Because It Matters campaign will be showcased nationally across an extensive range of media platforms, including Network and Pay TV, online and digital channels, social media, cinema, large and small format billboards, banners and transit advertising. Both still photography and motion film assets will feature throughout the campaign, giving MOYA national exposure across Australia.

To have MOYA recognised by American Express in this way is an honour, not simply because of the national exposure, but because the campaign celebrates values that have always guided our business.
Fashion is about far more than beautiful clothing. It is about helping women feel confident, comfortable and completely themselves. Achieving that takes experience, thoughtful styling and an unwavering commitment to detail.
At MOYA, we have always believed that every detail matters.
It is wonderful to see that philosophy recognised on a national stage.
As it launches, we look forward to sharing the campaign with you on instagram @moya.sydney.
Thank you to American Express, Dentsu Creative and every member of the production team for such a memorable experience, and for recognising what has always been at the heart of MOYA.
Because it matters.
