London’s cult label ushers in a new design era under Mario Arena.
A quiet revolution is underway at JOSEPH. The British fashion house, long celebrated for its refined minimalism and intelligent design, has appointed Mario Arena as its new Creative Director, marking the start of an inspired new chapter.

With over three decades in luxury fashion, Arena brings a deeply nuanced eye shaped by roles at JW Anderson, Nanushka, and Christopher Kane. His experience bridges craftsmanship and concept's the artistry of design with contemporary innovation a duality that resonates with JOSEPH’s timeless DNA.
His debut collection, Spring/Summer 2026, will unveil a refreshed vision for the house: fluid tailoring, tactile textures, and a grounded sensuality that honours JOSEPH’s heritage while redefining its modern identity. Arena draws from founder Joseph Ettedgui’s avant-garde legacy, embracing simplicity not as absence but as intention.

“JOSEPH has always embodied quiet confidence's pieces that live with you, not just on you,” Arena reflects. His approach prioritises evolution over disruption, with an emphasis on integrity, craftsmanship, and authenticity.
As JOSEPH reunites its creative and production teams under one London roof, the brand stands ready for renewal, where restraint meets imagination, and modern elegance finds its most effortless form.
