QUEEN LETIZIA OF SPAIN
On 19th February, Queen Letizia of Spain visited the Pedro Garcia footwear factory in Elda, Alicante, to celebrate the brand's 100th anniversary.
The Queen toured the design studio, patternmaking area, leather warehouse and production line at the Campo Alto industrial estate. She observed the craftsmanship of the third-generation family owned business, which has operated in Elda since 1925.
During the visit, she was presented with a commemorative book titled 'Seasons: A Journey Through Spain with Pedro Garcia'. Queen Letizia left a congratulatory note praising the "architects" of the industry for maintaining the high quality and artisanal tradition of Elda footwear.
Supporting the local industry, Queen Letizia wore Pedro Garcia's Xantia boots, a slouchy black style made from biodegradable, metal-free calf leather.
